The article below was one of many that were published about our organization's building of an energy-efficient "green home" as well as the Carpenters' movement into building and retrofitting for energy efficiency, sealing building envelopes, installing solar panels, and helping consumers realize financial savings. In addition to being heavily involved in promoting the Emmy-nominated TV show and our trades' work in these areas, I developed a program that allowed interested industry partners and related business to advertise on the Built to Last and Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters' websites.
